I created SportsHistory.us as kind of a companion site to the numerous sites that contain sports trivia and statistics. My idea here was to write primarily about how the sports world can serve as a template for other types of duscussions. Topics like politics, history, sociology, and language all have very interesting applications in the sports world. As a result, I try to populate this site with a certain type of sports writing. It’s not like anything you would find on the sports page; it’s not nearly that topical. It’s more about either sports topics that have somehow touched another area of life or simply sports topics I feel have been underreported. So I hope you enjoy it.
